Congratulations to CRISM Atlantic member Dr. Sara Davidson, Medical Director of River Stone Recovery Centre and family physician at Fredericton Downtown Community Health Centre, who received Dalhousie Family Medicine’s Undergraduate Preceptor of the Year 2023 Award at the 2023 New Brunswick College of Family Physicians’ annual Family Medicine Conference Awards Banquet on Friday, June 2nd.

This award recognizes Dr. Davidson for her role as a preceptor and her valuable contribution to the clinical learning experiences of medical students at Dalhousie Family Medicine. The award is nominated by a medical student from Dalhousie and selected by the Medical Education Awards Committee of Dalhousie Family Medicine.

The following is an excerpt from the nominator:
“Learning from Dr. Davidson, I was able to modify my own clinical communication style to a patient-centred and trauma-informed approach to build the environment that the patient needs to establish a trusting and successful therapeutic relationship. This experience working with Dr. Davidson has profoundly shaped the approach I take with patients today and will continue through the remainder of my career.”
