Save the date! The new Atlantic Node of the Canadian Research Initiative in Substance Matters (CRISM) cordially invites academic researchers, service providers, people with lived and living experience of substance use, Indigenous representatives, policymakers, early career researchers, and more, to join us for the first CRISM Atlantic symposium! This event is in-person only, with no hybrid opportunities. However, we will be recording certain aspects of the symposium for those who are unable attend.

Registration and CRISM Membership

  • To take part in this event, you must be a CRISM/CRISM Atlantic member. You can become a member for free by signing up HERE.
Book Your Hotel Group Rate for This CRISM Event
  • We have been offered conference standard room rates at The Westin Nova Scotian. All rates are subject to the additional charges of tax (15%) and a levy (3%). The rates are $179 CAD/night beginning Sunday, November 3rd to Wednesday, November 6th. The last day to book with these rates is Thursday, October 3, 2024. Please note that room blocks are limited, bookings are on a first come first serve basis.

Financial Assistance for Attendance

  • We would like to encourage attendance at the CRISM Atlantic Symposium without constraint, particularly for people who use/used drugs, members of the BIPOC communities, members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, trainees, and youth. There are limited funds available to assist with travel and accommodation for CRISM Atlantic Members requiring support for their attendance.
  • If you are a CRISM Atlantic Member and you require financial assistance to attend, please fill out the form HERE by August 19th.
  • Award recipients will be informed by September 4th.
