2024 CRISM Atlantic Art Contest

CRISM Atlantic is pleased to introduce its first Art Contest!

In the spirit of collaboration and creative representation, we are reaching out to our CRISM Atlantic community inviting you to create a piece of art that symbolizes not only the Atlantic provinces, but also substance use research and/or the Node’s priority areas (i.e., people with lived and living experience, Indigenous peoples, youth, rural communities, concurrent disorders, and sex and gendered perspectives).

Original paintings, drawings, and photographs are welcome. Both physical and digital creations are allowed. AI art/photos will NOT be allowed in this competition, any pieces deemed to be made with Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) will be disqualified. All digital photos should be sent with their Exchangeable Image File Format (EXIF) data. Any photos containing individuals other than the photographer (i.e., a ‘model’) will require a statement of the model’s consent.

A panel will review all submissions considering the craftmanship, aesthetic appeal, how the meaning aligns with the Node’s priorities, and Atlantic-ness. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place works will receive a cash prize of $250, $150, and $100, respectively. The winners’ artworks will also be highlighted on our CRISM Atlantic Website, Newsletter, and at our November conference! The original works will be displayed with the artist’s copyright for proper accreditation. Artists shall agree to allow CRISM to use the works for exhibit, promotional purposes, etc., with full acknowledgment of the artist. The selected artist will have to consent to allow CRISM Atlantic to display their artwork.

Entry into this competition is FREE and is open to CRISM Atlantic members ONLY! If you are not a member and are interested in learning more about the CRISM Atlantic community, click HERE for more information.
